Dr Amy Champion
Gonstead and McTimoney Chiropractor.
Amy qualified as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 2014, and then in 2016 she travelled to America where she spent 3 months intensively training in the Gonstead technique, a technique which we apply here at Corrective Chiropractic.
Amy has spent over 18 years working within the health and fitness industry.
She worked as a personal trainer, and then qualifying in sports massage and injury rehabilitation. Over the years she has worked with a wide range of clients, including athletes, atlantic rowers and rugby players, as well as clients just wanting to improve their general health and fitness. From here, progressing into Chiropractic seemed a natural route for her to take.
The knowledge gained through her early career allows her to design individual treatment plans to suit patient needs. As a result she has built a healthy patient base treating a range of conditions from chronic degenerative disorders to acute sports injuries. Within the clinic setting, Amy utilises a range of techniques including manipulative therapy (Gonstead), dry needling, soft tissue release and sports massage to help improve performance, decrease pain and increase function.
Amy was introduced to triathlons back in 2013, since then she has competed in a number of middle distance races. In 2015 Amy travelled to Roth in Germany, to compete in her first full Ironman distance race, which she thoroughly enjoyed and was placed 42nd in her age group category. Amy has her mind set on another one very soon!
