The Gonstead System of Chiropractic
The Gonstead System of Chiropractic, developed by Dr. Clarence Gonstead in 1923, is renowned for its meticulous approach to evaluating and correcting issues in the spine. This system emphasises thorough assessment and precise adjustments to restore proper spinal alignment and function. The foundation of the Gonstead approach prioritises the body’s structural integrity. Optimum balance and stability in the spinal column may be achieved when the pelvis, vertebrae, and legs are properly aligned and level.
At TOPCHIRO, we follow a five-step analysis process inspired by Dr. Gonstead himself:
- Visualisation: We carefully observe posture, gait, and spinal alignment to gather valuable insights into a person’s condition.
- Instrumentation: We use specialised tools, such as the Nervoscope, to detect areas of inflammation and temperature variations on the skin. This helps us identify potential spinal misalignments and areas where the body may be compensating.
- Static Palpation: Through hands-on examination, we assess for changes in spinal structure and function, which guide our adjustments.
- Motion Palpation: This technique is used to assess joint movement, helping us identify restrictions and possible misalignments.
- X-ray Analysis: Digital X-rays provide detailed images of the spine, enabling us to accurately locate areas that require adjustment.
We develop personalised care plans based on a comprehensive evaluation of each patient’s symptoms, medical history, and examination findings. Our clinic is equipped with a variety of chiropractic tables, allowing for specific positioning tailored to each individual. This equipment enables us to accommodate for people with reduced mobility and offer modifications for pregnant women.
